Managing Director's Message

The year was 1988 when Hawkeye began operations, it almost seems like it was yesterday but in reality it was 20 years ago. Back then electronic security as we know it now, backed by 24 hour monitoring and armed response was just being introduced on the security scene here in Jamaica.

A decision was taken in September 1987 by my brother Mark and I to invest in what we believed would be an emerging market in the not too distant future. In February 1988 after being assisted by our father in securing a location for our office and the necessary equipment to do the alarm monitoring, Hawkeye was born. We looked for the right personnel to be a part of the company and were fortunate to have found several men and women who have stood with us throughout these many years and whose effort and hard work are a part of why we are celebrating this milestone. After all, the right people properly trained and committed to the job is what we believe would make the difference in our service delivery and it has proven to be so.

From very early the professionalism of Hawkeye was clearly visible, especially from the most visible part of our company – our Response Teams. These are the “men in black” who created an aura about Hawkeye and won the trust and confidence of our customers and the respect of the public in general.

Even as we proudly reflect on the achievements of the past two decades, we must conclude that success cannot be defined merely by length of tenure, or even by the health of a Company's balance sheet. While these are important attributes they form only a part of the picture. The vision and values on which the Company was formed and developed are founded on honesty, integrity, a commitment to customer satisfaction, a caring attitude towards our staff and customers, and being actively engaged in the communities in which we are involved.

We believe it is our commitment to our vision and values that has kept Hawkeye Electronic Security at the forefront of an increasingly competitive industry, in an increasingly challenging economic environment. Of course, such a milestone is an occasion for gratitude and recognition of staff and I wholeheartedly salute all our staff, past and present. This truly is your celebration, regardless of your tenure with us. The fact that over 30 members of staff have been with Hawkeye for over 10 years is not only a testimony to their dedication and commitment to the Company but also to the family environment we have been able to create. Our staff has enabled us to earn and sustain the trust and confidence of our customers and they, above all our products and services, are our greatest asset.

To all our customers I say “Thank You” for entrusting the security of your families and property to us. I say a special thanks to those who have been with us from the outset. Yes, we have several customers who have been with us from the beginning, your contribution goes way beyond the monetary; by serving you, learning to meet your needs, and applying lessons from your feedback we have become a more adaptable and more efficient company.

To our valued suppliers, locally and around the globe, we acknowledge your role in helping us to offer our customers increased peace of mind through the very latest technology and highest quality products available. These products include intrusion detection, CCTV, remote video surveillance, gate automation, access control, metal detectors, guard tour and key management systems, anti-shoplifting and vehicle tracking systems.

Our goal for the future is to continue to be the leading electronic security provider by continuing to offer the very latest in electronic security solutions, supported by excellent customer service in our ongoing commitment to exceed the expectations of our customers.

Finally, it is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for His guidance, direction and provision He has graciously provided through the years that has enabled us to accomplish what we have.
